The House of Dior born from the dream of a young illustrator who wanted to become an architect but instead, built the foundation of a fashion empire after the aftermath of World War II. Thanks to his drawings for the women's pages of Le Figaro, Christian started to design for important Haute Couture houses in Paris, captivated by the alchemy that transforms an idea into a dress. In 1946 he set his own firm and the iconic atelier on 30 Avenue Montaigne opened its doors. His Spring–Summer 1947 collection, famously dubbed the "New Look" by Harper’s Bazaar editor, catapulted Dior to international acclaim. Unstoppable, Christian Dior expanded from Paris to New York, and later to London, Caracas, up to over 500 boutiques. That same year, he delved into the world of fragrance, creating iconic scents with expert perfumers. Among Dior’s muses over the decades, Lady Dior par excellence was undoubtedly the muse of the 90s: “Lady Di”.
