A brand born from the savoir-faire of the magical land of Grasse; a name inspired by Lancosme, a forest in the heart of the Loire Valley; an immutable logo that reminds us that it all began with a simple rose. Armand Petitjean, a disciple of Francois Coty, the father of modern perfumery, together with a talented group of artists and mentors, created this brand with the vision of reclaiming France as the world centre of perfumery. In the same inaugural year, they created five fragrances, rewarded at the 1935 World's Fair in Brussels. The following year, they created the Nutrix cream, which is still a bestseller with the same formula as in 1936. And since its creation in 2012, the house's best-seller perfume is La Vie Est Belle. Featuring Julia Roberts' smile, it proclaims that beauty, happiness and life are intimately connected; especially in a woman.

Since its origin, Lancôme has been committed to the sustainable organic cultivation of the centofolia rose on its Domaine de la Rose estate in Grasse. Where every sunrise, the roses are harvested by hand and immediately brought to the perfumers.
